Travel tips Milan - Inspiring fashion metropolis and dazzling nightlife!

Say Yes to New Adventures

Milan is not only the pulsating fashion metropolis of Italy - this is where style, zeitgeist and passion meet! We were recently allowed to be inspired by this spirit once again when we shot the latest Filippa Firenze headband collection on location. Of course, in addition to a lot of photographs in front of a breathtaking backdrop, we also took one or the other insider tip with us.

Even if Milan is of course not the capital of Italy, it still sets the tone in terms of style, enjoyment and passion. The Milanese not only follow the latest trends, they are way ahead of their time, stylish, culturally educated and cosmopolitan. Anyone who lives here lives body and soul according to the Italian "Dolce Vita". 3 days alone - and that with a packed appointment calendar - were enough to broaden our horizons again in terms of trends, restaurants and work-life balance...

The quick basics: culture & shopping in Milan

1. Milan Cathedral

Since no one wants to miss the obligatory photo in front of the cathedral on a trip to Milan, the cathedral forecourt has now become a blogger hotspot. In order to take the perfect shot, you have to get up early to get ahead of everyone else. Trust us: It's worth it! There is something magical about a deserted Milan at dawn. Because the roof of the cathedral in particular - with its incredible view over the entire city - is becoming increasingly popular, we recommend going to the surrounding rooftop bars, such as Il Bar from the Rinascente department store. There you will find a chilled atmosphere and cool drinks with a similar view.

2. Uber instead of a taxi

A tip that everyone should know by now: Drive an Uber instead of a taxi! It doesn't matter whether you want to go to the Stazione Centrale, Milano MPX or Linate, with the app you can be sure of a reliable journey within minutes: from cheap to luxurious. With a tap of your finger, the car comes right away. The driver knows exactly where to go. And the payment is completely cashless.

3. Shop till you drop

Let's get straight to the key facts: fashion and Milan belong together. High-fashion designers are working at full speed here to present avant-garde trends at the Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer Fashion Weeks that match the change of season. Italian fashion means: high-quality materials, flattering cuts, casual elegance. That's why Milan is peppered with exclusive designer shops (Versace, Prada, Valentino and Co.) and you get a larger selection of products than at the Düsseldorf KÖ and Berlin's KaDeWe together. Fashion hotspots here are Via Monte Napoleone and Via della Spiga. Our tip: Have a look at Via Rossini 72, there you will find a Dolce & Gabbana outlet. In addition, similar to Germany, there is a final sale in which prices drop in both the beginning of January and the beginning of July – even for designer fashion.

4. The VOGUE newsstand

Because everyone is desperately looking for him, here's the address: Corso Venezia (corner "Via della Spiga" in front of the "Dolce & Gabbana" store). Have fun!

5. Pasta & Amore

The Italians share a passion for good food with a fondness for fashion. In "La Briciola" you will find a fabulously kitschy dinner location, fantastic wines and international celebrities. The kitchen conjures up an indescribably delicious pasta and Chef Gianni a relaxed atmosphere. After dinner, he decorated our table with fancy candy jars and prepared it for selfies. The next highlight is the "Dolce & Gabbana Martini Bar". Here it can happen that you sip your espresso martini next to Caro Daur. The exclusive location, with its comfortable leather sofas and the interior completely immersed in black and red, with a Murano glass chandelier as a visual highlight, is the meeting point of the scene. Cheers Filippa Firenze!
